StoryWeaver (https://storyweaver.org.in/) from Pratham Books is a digital platform that provides easy-to-use tools to create and translate stories for children. It features thousands of stories in many languages such as Tagalog, Samoan, Japanese, and other languages across the world. This website allows parents, educators, writers, translators, and illustrators to “weave” quality stories for young readers. Every story created by users are free to download and does not require internet connectivity to read once stored in any digital device.

Content created using StoryWeaver is open licensed. This means people are free to use and reuse anything that is provided by the website. All tools needed for translating and formatting stories are free. The purpose of this website is to give freedom of creation by collaborating with other authors and grow an extensive archive of quality stories for young children to enjoy for years.

The homepage features new and trending stories that are read by millions of people daily. The tabs include navigations to trending themes and languages. The books are also organized by reading levels and includes digital read alongs and videos. In the translate tab, users are able to explore books that are published in different languages. In the creation tab, a user will be prompted to create an account and start drafting stories on his or her own!

StoryWeaver is an effective literacy website that will be most useful for students who speak English as a second language. Teachers can also use this website to create content for languages that have yet to be added on the website. StoryWeaver continues to promote the love of reading by giving free access to its large library and tools.
